22nd – 24th MAY 2020

You are invited to join us and explore the attractions of rural Perthshire, from mountain and moor to lochs, rivers and woodland, on the 32nd Scottish National Riley Weekend. We will be based at Moness Resort, ( a short distance south of Aberfeldy on the A826 and close to the Birks of Aberfeldy, immortalised by Burns in his poem of 1787.

Hotel. The Moness Resort consists of a 26-bedroom hotel, built as a shooting lodge in 1759, and a number of modern cottages which are normally let on a self-catering basis. However, we have negotiated a deal whereby the self-catering cottages can be occupied on the same bed and breakfast basis as the hotel rooms, with breakfast taken in the hotel dining room. We have reserved for the weekend all 26 rooms in the hotel and 34 one-bedroom cottages until 31st December 2019. More cottages may be available on a first come, first served basis. The cost will be £52.50 per person per night B&B based on 2 persons sharing, plus £25 per person for the gala dinner on the Saturday night. Single occupancy is +50% on the room rate. Extra nights may be booked at the same rates, if available. For family parties, larger cottages may be available, and cottages can be taken on a self-catering basis if required - consult the hotel reservations team at the time of booking. To obtain the special rate, the hotel will require a 20% deposit at the time of booking, the balance being payable 4 weeks before the event. The hotel would normally keep your Credit/Debit Card details in secure encrypted form but if you do not wish them to do so, please inform the reservations team at the time of booking.  To book, ring 01887 822108 and mention Riley Weekend.

Camping. The only campsite nearby is the Aberfeldy Caravan and Camping Park, (, situated on the eastern outskirts of the town, which is under the same ownership as the hotel. 2020 rates are not yet available but this year they are £16 for a grass pitch plus £5 per adult per night. To book phone 01887 822108

Gala Dinner. Please see the menu  (moness_menu) and make your choices of starters, mains and puddings, and fill in the appropriate part of the entry form using the abbreviated description from the menu.

Workshop Visit. As well as several other suggested scenic runs on Saturday, we have arranged with Milford Vintage Engineering ( to visit their specialist vintage and classic repair workshop at Kirkmichael, a village in StrathArdle, 12 miles from Pitlochry and itself an attractive scenic run. It would be helpful in organising this visit if we can have some idea of the likely level of interest. Please indicate on the entry form.

Sunday. We will drive a 37-mile scenic route to Ballathie House Hotel ( an historic shooting lodge on the banks of the River Tay near Blairgowrie, where we will have a buffet lunch with soup, sandwiches, coffee and shortbread, (£15.50 per person), followed by prizegiving and departure. All main routes are easily accessible from the hotel.
